John M. Fultz

John M. Fultz was born in Navasota, Texas, in 1950, and moved into the home, now the Firm’s law office, when he was two months old. Mr. Fultz graduated from Navasota High School as Salutatorian in 1968 and attended undergraduate school at the University of Texas at Austin where he received a BA degree in Government. He attended South Texas College of Law where he was on the Dean’s List and was the Technical Editor and Research Editor of the Law Journal. Mr. Fultz received his JD in May of 1977 and he was licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas on June 10, 1977. He practiced in Houston, Texas, and was employed by Investors Title Company where he was the Chief Title Officer of the Company before returning to Navasota in June of 1978 to enter practice with the Firm of Fultz & Davis, a law firm composed of Richard N. Davis, Sr., and John M’s mother, Artie Fultz Davis, both now deceased. That firm was the successor to the original firm of Fultz & Fultz (composed of Mr. Fultz’s father Joseph Donald Fultz and mother Artie McWhorter Fultz, and the firm of Artie M. Fultz, who continued as a solo practitioner upon the death of Mr. Joe Fultz in 1964).  John M. began with a general law practice wherein he dealt with the needs of the citizens of Grimes County in the areas of civil and criminal law, concentrating on real estate transactions and litigation. Mr. Fultz and Mrs. Davis were joined in the practice by his son, Jon C. Fultz, in 1997. Mrs. Davis practiced for over 65 years and passed away in 2006, when he and his son formed Fultz & Fultz, PLLC.  The Firm was pleased to have Jennifer A. Fultz, John M. Fultz’s daughter and Jon C. Fultz’s sister, join the Firm in 2010. While Jon C. Fultz has taken on most of the Firm’s real estate and other litigation and Jennifer A. Fultz handles most of the Firm’s probate and transactional real estate, Mr. Fultz’s practice continues to include most areas of law, including real estate, water, probate, business, family, and other general areas, while at the same time serving as General Counsel for Mid-South Electric Cooperative Association. He is a member of the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
